Peperomia axillaris
From the dark Peruvian jungle, this plant evolved 'windows' on the leaf margins allowing it to photosynthesize from within the leaf! Upright and shrubby.

This is a succulent, but one from a tropical area where it doesn't experience extended drought. It will tolerate going totally dry, but if you see the leaves shriveling it has been dry too long. It prefers to be watered just before completely drying out. | |
