At our retail locations, trade clients can access discounts, horticultural consultation, and brokering services. We excel at assembling large special orders of pottery — and we love working with interior designers to find rare, one-of-a-kind pieces that make their projects truly distinctive.
Through Grubb & Nadler, we provide wholesale sales, contract growing, large-scale sourcing, and brokering for professional projects. Our team has consulted for the Conservatory of Flowers, Golden Gate Park, the University of California Botanical Garden, the City of San Francisco, the Presidio Trust, the San Francisco Department of Public Works, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden.
Q: What makes your store different from other nurseries?
A: Flora Grubb Gardens is a place of inspiration. Our spaces are immersive environments, lovingly crafted to inspire and delight. Many visitors tell us it’s the most beautiful garden store they’ve ever seen, and we hope you’ll feel the same.
We grow much of what we sell ourselves, bringing you direct-from-the-farm quality and value. Our focus is on resilient, climate-appropriate plants, and we grow many rare and extraordinary species you won’t find elsewhere. We pair our plants with carefully curated pottery, furniture, and art pieces to help you create your own beautiful outdoor spaces.
We carry plants in all sizes, including very large mature plants you won’t find at most nurseries.
Our team includes expert horticulturists and designers who lecture internationally, write books, and serve on the boards of plant societies and public gardens. Many have been serving our customers for more than a decade — sharing their deep knowledge and love of plants every day.
Q: Do you help with large-scale projects (landscape design, commercial jobs, large scale installations, pop-ups)?
A: Yes — between our trade-services, our horticultural consulting, our wholesale nursery, and event rentals, we’re equipped to collaborate on large projects. Contact our team to discuss scope, timeline and services.
Q: I’ve heard Flora Grubb is expensive. Is it true?
A: Thanks for asking! As more retailers publish their prices online, we encourage you to compare. When you make an apples-to apples comparison, you’ll find our prices are comparable to other nearby nurseries. (Yes, really).
What sometimes creates that “expensive” impression is the fact that we also carry extraordinary things: very rare and mature plants, artist-made ceramics, large-scale containers, beautifully designed outdoor furniture. These special pieces simply cost more to make and move– and we are proud to make them available. They are part of what makes a visit here such a unique experience.
