Naturally growing in Australia's winter rainfall region, this plant is well adapted to California's Mediterranean climate. It is also more tolerant of summer water than many of Australias winter growing plants. As a testament to its adaptability, this shrub is beloved in the gardens of East Australia, a summer rainfall region. Water this plant regularly, when the top inch or so of soil feels dry. If you establish this pattern over several years, then you can cut back to watering every couple weeks or possibly even not at all (given winter rains). Follow your plants lead to see how far you can push it! | |
