The rare and mesmerizing Aloe polyphylla starts out as a little plant like these (below) and grows into the stunner you see above.
Grow your Aloe polyphylla outdoors (not indoors!) in part shade to full sun. It'll be just as happy in a pot as in the ground. We grow this plant ourselves down on the farms at Grubb & Nadler.
SF is one of the few places in the world where this stunner, Aloe polyphylla, will thrive. We've never heard of a spiral aloe lasting more than a couple of years in the LA area, though.
